Williams only needed to win her second-round match at the China Open on Tuesday to reclaim the number 1 spot, because the current top-ranked player, Dinara Safina, couldn't get past that early round at the tournament. A close friend of Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem has revealed that the couple is engaged to be married. Rumors of pending nuptial have been floating around the blogosphere since April, but this time it seems like the real deal. “They're telling friends they will get married,” says a friend of the duo, who heard the news directly from one of them.
The evidence surrounding the couple certainly suggests they will be exchanging wedding rings quite soon. Strong rumors claim that Cruz is pregnant with Bardem’s child, and a wedding would certainly provide comfort to Cruz’s Catholic parents. Police say Ashley “A.J.” Jewell suffered fatal head injuries during a fight at a strip club. He was rushed to Piedmont Hospital and died later. Fredrick Richardson has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.
Kandi is the new ‘Housewife’ on season 2 of the Bravo’s hit show. On the show, she and A.J. are engaged and planning a wedding, although the show was taped months ago.
Jewell and Burgess ended their engagement earlier this year. It has been rumored that Kandi bought her own engagement ring.

The TLC network has official announced that it’s hit reality show will adapt to the split between Jon and Kate, and focus more on Kate’s role as a single mother.
According to TLC president and general manager Eileen O’ Neill, “It's not a huge shift, but it's reflective of where the show was already going.” She added that “Jon's going to be involved in the show," but that he will be seen less often.
The couple, who exchanged wedding rings over a decade ago, made their separation official on a ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ episode that aired in June.

Polanski’s famous trial was found to be a gross injustice due to the behavior of the now-deceased judge during the case. According to Polanski’s lawyer, “the District Attorney's Office in the 30 years since Mr. Polanski left the jurisdiction, has not once sought to have him extradited. Now the photographers are suing the couple, claiming they were shot at by their security guards.
The $1 million lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan claims that the photographers suffered physical and mental harm from the attack, despite the fact that they were not actually hit by any bullets.
