| Randy And Evi Quaid Released From Texas Jail Sun, September 27th 2009, 13:13 EST | | You know the old saying: the couple that rips-off hotels together, stays together - well, it seems to be true. Actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi have been released from a West Texas jail after their arrest for allegedly skipping out on a $10,000 California hotel bill.
The couple, who exchanged wedding rings 20 years ago, each posted $20,000 bail late Thursday, after spending a few hours in prison.
Presidio County Sheriff Danny Dominguez said he drove Randy to a bank to obtain the bail money. The sheriff said the actor received no special treatment.
Randy, the older brother of actor Dennis Quaid, checked into the San Ysidro Ranch with Evi on June 13 of this year. The next day, the innkeeper discovered that their credit card had been declined. Much to his current regret, he allowed the couple to stay when they claimed they had another card coming. However, after a week of racking up a sizable tab, the pair split..
According to the innkeeper, he told police that the Quaids owe $10,000 and all attempts by him to collect the money have been in vain. The couple faces felony charges of burglary, defrauding an innkeeper and conspiracy in Santa Barbara, California.
| | Tom Brady And Gisele Bundchen Sued Wed, September 23rd 2009, 10:35 EST | | Earlier this year, after New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady exchanged wedding rings with supermodel Gisele Bundchen in Costa Rica, they were photographed by two photographers during the post-wedding party. Now the photographers are suing the couple, claiming they were shot at by their security guards.
The $1 million lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan claims that the photographers suffered physical and mental harm from the attack, despite the fact that they were not actually hit by any bullets.
According to the lawsuit, it is said that Brady and Bundchen hired improperly trained security guards for the celebration. The party took place in April, two months after their wedding, at Bundchen’s Holiday home.
‘AFP’ photographer Yuri Cortez and photographer Rolando Aviles of Costa Rican national daily newspaper ‘Al Dia’ say Bundchen's bodyguards barely missed hitting their heads while they were being fired upon for refusing to give up their cameras and memory cards.
| | Khloe Kardashian Set To Exchange Wedding Rings This Weekend Tue, September 22nd 2009, 12:05 EST | | Not to be outdone by pregnant sister Kourtney, 29-year-old reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has decided to exchange wedding rings with LA Laker Lamar Odom this Sunday, just weeks after getting together.
According to E! News, many of the wedding guests have already been informed of the celebration via telephone, with formal invites to follow this week - but the future bride has yet to confirm or deny the reports.
On September 4, Khloe confirmed she was dating Odom. According to older sister Kim: “They're very, very happy. They've been together a few weeks, and are literally inseparable.” According to a source, the couple went ring shopping in Los Angeles over the weekend, and Odom bought Khloe a ring she liked on the spot. “She's not wearing it yet because it is being resized,” says the source.
Although the pair has only spent six weeks together, they are hoping to get married and have a honeymoon before Odom begins training camp with the Lakers this fall.
It is rumored that the many, but not all of the Lakers team was invited to the still secret wedding. Whether or not this is true, remains to be seen.

| | Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: Twilight Wedding Thu, September 17th 2009, 07:33 EST | | It is set to be the “Wedding of the Year”. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will be exchanging wedding rings. And a cast of hundreds are working hard, around the clock, to finalize all of the details.
But before teenage girls have a collective meltdown, this is the wedding between Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”. As yet, the young stars have not made public any plans to marry in real life. Nonetheless, designers ranging from Monique Lhullier to Christian Siriano have sent in designs, hoping theirs is chosen as the perfect dress for one of the most anticipated weddings of a human lifetime.
The moonlight ceremony—necessary because Edward is a vampire—is intended to be as romantic, if not more so, than his proposal was. Edward offered Bella a diamond engagement ring that had been in his family for generations, and said, “Isabella Swan? I promise to love you forever—every single day of forever. Will you marry me?” Bella simply responded, “Yes”.
| | Manhattan Diamond Dash For Charity Wed, September 16th 2009, 10:41 EST | | Last Saturday, hundreds of couples ran around Manhattan in search of a $20,000 engagement ring, a luxurious Hawaiian honeymoon, and many other prizes during the ‘Diamond Dash: Dash For a Diamond & a Cure’ event.
The charity event, which raised money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, was sponsored by Michael C. Fina and Tacori. Partisipants were encouraged to donate $100.00 to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society instead of paying a registration fee. Nearly $3,000 was raised.
The dash started at noon at Battery Park. Couples were provided text message clues, which led to various wedding-related places throughout Manhatten, including Michael C. Fina, Hearst, John Allan, Tumi, Godiva Chocolatier, Ron Ben-Israel, Kleinfeld, and mad46.
Tom Weymouth and Katherine Gordon of Astoria, NY won the grand prize and an opportunity to propose live at the Rooftop Lounge of the Roosevelt Hotel.
It took them approximately 3 hours to complete the course, using subways, cabs, and a healthy sprint. After winning, Tom got on one knee and said, “Kat, I'd run anywhere with you.”
Actually, this wasn’t the first time these lovebirds participated in a similar event. According to Tom: “Kat and I love games and one of our first dates was a race around New York where we really bonded as a couple. When we saw the Diamond Dash advertised, we knew it was meant to be. When we actually won we just couldn't believe our luck!”

| | Kanye West Rains On Taylor Swift’s Parade Mon, September 14th 2009, 09:15 EST | | Last night, at MTV’s Video Music Awards, Kanye West thought it would be a good idea to interrupt Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, to proclaim that Beyonce Knowles should have won the award for Best Female Music Video. Needless to say, it was not a good idea.
While the country starlet was humbly accepting her award, Kanye burst onto the stage, grabbed the microphone from the 19-year-old, and said: “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time!”
It wasn’t long before audience members rose to their feet and booed the megalomaniac, while cameras captured an embarrassed Beyonce. As West took his seat, a number of celebs took the opportunity to tell him off. According to inside sources, Kayne was asked to leave the show by a high-powered member of MTV.
Later in the show, Diddy took to the stage to present an award. When he mentioned Kanye as a nominee, the crowd booed and chanted Taylor’s name.
| | Johnny Depp Announces Fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean” Movie Sun, September 13rd 2009, 06:56 EST | | When the announcement came, it was with all of the noise and drama of Captain Jack Sparrow, and none of the quiet reserve and discretion of Johnny Depp. On Friday night, Depp sailed onto the stage at the Anaheim Convention Center in a pirate ship in full Jack Sparrow attire. Staying in character, he stumbled drunkenly around the stage before hugging Walt Disney Studios Chairman Dick Cook, who then announced to attendees of the D23 Expo—a Disney version of Comic-Con—that Jack Sparrow would be back in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” in 2011. When Cook suggested that it might be time for some rum, it was the over-the-top Captain Jack who said: “Sounds good!” | |
| | Cal Ripken “#8” Monument Stolen from Camden Yards Thu, September 10th 2009, 07:50 EST | | Cal Ripken, Jr. has always been a bit different than most other professional athletes. He grew up with the game, following in the footsteps of his father. He worked hard, was friendly to the fans, and he always, always played. In 1983 he earned the first of his 19 All-Star positions and was named the American League MVP, receiving the traditional plaque with a baseball diamond at its center. On September 6, 1995, Ripken passed Lou Gehrig’s record of 2,130 consecutive games played. On June 14, 1996, he broke the world record for consecutive games played when he reached 2,216, surpassing Japanese player Sachio Kinugasa. When he retired in 2001, so did his famous #8. The monument built for him outside of Camden Yards was stolen Tuesday night by four young men in a prank almost worthy of the Darwin Awards. | |
