 | Mad Men Star Christina Hendricks Gets Married

That’s right – ‘Mad Men’ star Christina Hendricks, who plays the curvy, sassy Joan Holloway on AMC’s hit drama, has tied the know with actor Geoffrey Arend at Il Buco restaurant in New York on Sunday, according to PEOPLE.
Hendricks and Arend got engaged earlier this year after being introduced through ‘Mad Men’ costar Vincent Kartheiser, who plays the bratty Pete Campbell on the show.
The couple exchanged platinum wedding bands designed by Tacori. “The rings are simple and lovely – so much like Christina and Geoffrey,” said Tacori rep Michelle Chila. Arend's engraved ring matches Christina’s petite platinum ring with two rows of pave-set diamonds.
When they went ring shopping earlier this year, the duo knew they found a perfect match. “They put the rings on the table and said, ‘Look, they talk to each other. They’re friends,'” adds Chila. | |

According to the magazine, “It's not an engagement ring — but it is a sign they're getting serious.” When Clooney was dating waitress Sarah Larson he publicly stated that he would “never marry,” but now it seems the tide has maybe turned for the actor. In fact, the couple recently moved in together into his California home.
It’s been sixteen years since Clooney ended a difficult marriage to actress Talia Balsam. Most people assumed George would never get married again after the ordeal. This time he allegedly “stole” $230,000 from he and Kate’s joint bank account, leaving Kate with a minimal $1,000 to pay for bills. This incident occurred a few days after Jon Gosselin decided he no longer wants his kids on TV. Of course, that news came mere days after TLC announced they were changing the scope and name of ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8’ to simply ‘Kate Plus 8’. I could go on and on and on…

Wed, October 7th 2009, 14:12 EST | | Good news, sport fans – your favorite athletes are posing nude on the cover and inside pages of ESPN Magazine’s ‘Body Issue,’ including Serena Williams. Don’t worry, the issue will be safe for work, so you can enjoy the edition with your co-workers.
Williams is featured on one of six covers, and can be seen in the flesh, sitting, with her arms wrapped around her knees. The only article on her nude frame is a distinct diamond on her finger. The magazine, which hits newsstands on October 9, chose well selecting Williams as one of the covers, since she just reclaimed her number 1 ranking.
Williams only needed to win her second-round match at the China Open on Tuesday to reclaim the number 1 spot, because the current top-ranked player, Dinara Safina, couldn't get past that early round at the tournament. Safina lost to local wild card entry Zhang Shuai in the second round on Monday, which paved the way for Williams.
“It feels pretty good. I'm really excited, I guess. I don't want to put too much pressure on myself, but I'm obviously happy to be there because I feel like I've been working so hard all year and just happy to be back,” Serena said. | |

Now it isn’t enough to have an iPhone, a Blackberry, a Sidekick. Now there are designers who spend their days looking for ways to pimp your phone.
Amosu, a mobile phone ‘customizer’, has just released what it claims is the world’s most expensive cell phone. At about $200,266 USD, it is, at present, the current leader. This Blackberry has been encrusted with 4,459 round brilliant diamonds weighing in at a total of 28.42 carats set into 18-karat yellow gold. It offers a 24-hour global concierge service, as well.
But it isn’t just the price that makes this handheld device exclusive. Only three like it have been produced. Amosu did create an ad for the phone, but, with only 3 in existence and a very limited possible clientele, one has to wonder who the advertising is trying to reach

Rumors of pending nuptial have been floating around the blogosphere since April, but this time it seems like the real deal. “They're telling friends they will get married,” says a friend of the duo, who heard the news directly from one of them.
The evidence surrounding the couple certainly suggests they will be exchanging wedding rings quite soon. Strong rumors claim that Cruz is pregnant with Bardem’s child, and a wedding would certainly provide comfort to Cruz’s Catholic parents. However, the couple is still denying the baby speculation, despite a photo showing the happy couple leaving an OB/GYN clinic in Madrid last month.
Cruz recently revealed reluctance about being a wife: “I don't know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children.” She added, “When I [have children], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life.”

Police say Ashley “A.J.” Jewell suffered fatal head injuries during a fight at a strip club. He was rushed to Piedmont Hospital and died later. Fredrick Richardson has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.
Kandi is the new ‘Housewife’ on season 2 of the Bravo’s hit show. On the show, she and A.J. are engaged and planning a wedding, although the show was taped months ago.
Jewell and Burgess ended their engagement earlier this year. It has been rumored that Kandi bought her own engagement ring.
Kandi, a single mother of one, has never been married. She is a Grammy-winner now working on launching a solo career.

The TV show’s creator Silvio Horta told People.com, “We’ve mentioned her several times over the course of the series…She’s an enormous Latina icon, as is Betty, and we thought it was a perfect fit”. |  | ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ To Be ‘Kate Plus Eight’
Wed, September 30th 2009, 13:09 EST | | Looks like Jon Gosselin’s partying and bad-mouthing may have caught up to him. Beginning November 2, ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ will simply be ‘Kate Plus Eight’.
The TLC network has official announced that it’s hit reality show will adapt to the split between Jon and Kate, and focus more on Kate’s role as a single mother.
According to TLC president and general manager Eileen O’ Neill, “It's not a huge shift, but it's reflective of where the show was already going.” She added that “Jon's going to be involved in the show," but that he will be seen less often.
The couple, who exchanged wedding rings over a decade ago, made their separation official on a ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ episode that aired in June.
The split followed weeks of tabloid speculation regarding infidelities and other marital problems. On the show, the couple barely spoke to one another. They are currently in divorce proceedings.
Discussions are also under way for another series starring Kate that may debut in 2010. “I think there's an opportunity for Kate beyond her role as a supermom to explore her other interests,” said O’ Neill. | |

Tue, September 29th 2009, 12:13 EST | | No one can argue that Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski hasn’t had his share of misfortune, both privately and publicly. Well, looks like the 76-year-old auteur has just been dealt another significant blow, being arrested over the past weekend in Switzerland over a 31-year-old U.S. arrest warrant.
Despite Polanski’s claim that American prosecutors had never tried to nab him after he fled overseas over thirty years ago, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said it had contact with several countries in an effort to arrest the ‘Pianist’ director.
Polanski's arrest in Switzerland on Saturday sparked an outcry from several European supporters asking why American authorities chose to act now, even though Polanski has been living and working openly in Europe for decades.
Polanski’s famous trial was found to be a gross injustice due to the behavior of the now-deceased judge during the case. According to Polanski’s lawyer, “the District Attorney's Office in the 30 years since Mr. Polanski left the jurisdiction, has not once sought to have him extradited. If it had, there would have been a hearing regarding the misconduct in this case.”
