 | Roman Polanski May Choose To Face Charges In U.S.
Wed, October 21st 2009, 13:53 EST | | Renowned film director, Roman Polanski, may choose to face sentencing in the United States soon, as his current conditions are terrible. The auteur is currently held in Swiss detention, with no significant chance for bail or house arrest.
Currently Polanski is in the midst of a lengthy extradition procedure – the U.S. want to put him on trial for a 1977 sex charge, since he fled the country before sentencing. Thus far Polanski has fought against the extradition, but one of his lawyers said he may decide to face justice in The States to avoid the lengthy extradition procedures.
The Oscar-winning director was arrested in Switzerland on September 26. On Tuesday, a Swiss court denied his request for release on bail, saying there was a strong risk that he would flee.
Lawyer George Kiejman said on Europe 1 radio: “We could be heading toward an extradition if the Swiss justice system does not take into account arguments against it. If the procedure drags on, it is not impossible that Roman Polanski could choose to go and explain himself in the United States, where there are some arguments in his favor. | |
|  | Phil Collins Can’t Play Drums Anymore
Tue, October 20th 2009, 06:41 EST | | Personally, I don’t want to live in a world where Phil Collins can’t play drums, but it looks like I may have to. The Grammy-winning, multi-platinum selling pop star recently told a German newspaper that he doesn’t have feeling in his fingers and he isn’t able to pick up his drum sticks.
Collins underwent surgery in April to repair a dislocated vertebra in his neck - seems as though the surgery left the musician without the ability to play his favorite instrument. The 58-year-old songsmith was quoted as saying the only way he could drum is if he were to “glue drumsticks to my hands.”
But Phil has no plan to give up music entirely. He told the newspaper he plans a recording a new album that will feature covers of 30 Motown covers next year: “I want the songs to sound exactly like the originals,” he told the paper. | |
|  | The Hills' Stephanie Pratt Arrested For DUI
Mon, October 19th 2009, 16:56 EST | | Here’s some truly shocking news: Stephanie Pratt, an actress on the reality show ‘The Hills’, was arrested early Sunday morning for driving under the influence…. actually, maybe not that shocking.
Stephanie was arrested around 3:45 am. She and a number of her ‘Hills’ co-stars spent the night before celebrating her sister-in-law, Holly Montag’s 26th birthday. Stephanie’s brother, Spencer Pratt, exchanged wedding rings with Holly’s sister, Heidi, less than a year ago.
Earlier in the evening, Pratt tweeted that she was at Holly’s birthday party, enjoying dinner, and was on her way to ‘Empire’ in Los Angeles. She also stated she was tired. After partying at ‘Empire’, Stephanie and Holly supposedly went to ‘Beso’ around 2 am. They hung out until 3 am and then parted ways.
Unfortunately, Pratt got in her own car and decided to drive home. She was pulled over when an officer spotted her. The actress was cooperative with the police and didn’t make a fuss. | |

Boyfriend Jason Hoppy proposed to Bethenny on October 8, after dating for 11 months. He gave her an 8-carat engagement ring with a 6.5-carat pear shaped center stone flanked by two side stones.
There is no denying Frankel’s excitement: “It feels great, because I'm with the right person. He may be regretting it because it's been beyond a week and he's in panic mode – [but] no, we're enjoying it.”
Hoppy seems to be just fine: “She is very much a handful but one thing she did say to me is she needs a man that can handle her and that I can.”
The proposal was as romantic as they get. After a day of shooting, Frankel arrived home to her Upper East Side apartment to find over a hundred lit votive candles and rose petals strewn all about the apartment. Hoppy got down on one knee and said: “You are the love of my life. Will you marry me?” Frankel’s puppy, Cookie, was dressed in a pink bow and oversaw the entire thing. | |

Thu, October 15th 2009, 12:56 EST | | Good news, ladies. The ‘Sex and the City’ sequel is well underway, and you can expect it to hit theaters next summer. Plus, a new addition is going to spice everything up. Yes, it’s true - Penelope Cruz has joined the cast, so expect some major fun.
Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Stewart and Cynthia Nixon, Penelope Cruz and Liza Minnelli are going to be in the film, along with Jason Lewis, reprising his role as Samantha Jones’ ex.
What will Penelope’s character be like? Well, let’s just say Cruz was spotted at the Empire Hotel filming a scene with Chris Noth, and things looked intimate. Could Carrie have her man snatched away from her by Penelope’s sexy character? Only time will tell.
Minnelli also filmed recently for three days. When she was done, she serenaded the cast with a rendition of ‘Every Time I Say Goodbye’.
According to an on-set source, “A total hush fell over the set. You could have heard a pin drop; it was such a moving moment. Everyone had goose bumps, tears. It was a really lovely parting gift she felt like giving everyone.” | |
|  | The Biggest Mass Wedding In A Decade
Wed, October 14th 2009, 13:45 EST | | More than 40,000 people from around the world were recently involved in the biggest mass wedding in over a decade. Brides in white dresses and Japanese kimonos joined grooms in black suits and red ties to exchange wedding rings.
The mass wedding was the largest ‘blessing ceremony” held by the Unification Church since 1999. 89-year-old Reverend Sun Myung Moon, the controversial founder of the church, oversaw the ceremony. His followers are known as Moonies.
Most of the couples receiving blessing were marrying for the first time, but many were renewing their vows. The reverend also blessed 10,000 couples from Sweden to Brazil, who were taking part in ceremonies around the world.
The massive world-wide ceremony was meant to celebrate two key anniversaries in the leader's life: his 90th birthday and his 50th wedding anniversary. Sun Myung Moon is getting ready to hand everyday leadership of the church over to his children.

Jon is currently dating Hailey Glassman and has been spending quite some time absorbing her Jewish lifestyle. He has been enjoying it so much, he is even thinking about converting, going so far as to consult a Rabbi.
He recently talked with ‘ParentDish’ about being a Jew: “This is the first year I will celebrate Chanukah. Hailey is Jewish. Everyone in my life is Jewish now, my attorney. I love it. I'm now half Jewish and half Korean. The family values are great. On Christmas, I'll see my kids during the day for a couple of hours.”
Jon is even learning a bit about the Jewish Holidays: “I just went through Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and learned about the New Year and every Friday is the Shabbat dinner. I love challah bread. I'm learning about Jewish food, going to Zabar's. I love that place. I'm learning about kosher and when not to order a bacon, egg and cheese and make an ass of myself. Hailey makes fun of me. My mom came to the city on Yom Kippur and asked where all the traffic was. I got from the West Side to Midtown in five minutes. She wants to come to the city every year on Yom Kippur.” | |

That’s right – ‘Mad Men’ star Christina Hendricks, who plays the curvy, sassy Joan Holloway on AMC’s hit drama, has tied the know with actor Geoffrey Arend at Il Buco restaurant in New York on Sunday, according to PEOPLE.
Hendricks and Arend got engaged earlier this year after being introduced through ‘Mad Men’ costar Vincent Kartheiser, who plays the bratty Pete Campbell on the show.
The couple exchanged platinum wedding bands designed by Tacori. “The rings are simple and lovely – so much like Christina and Geoffrey,” said Tacori rep Michelle Chila. Arend's engraved ring matches Christina’s petite platinum ring with two rows of pave-set diamonds.

According to the magazine, “It's not an engagement ring — but it is a sign they're getting serious.” When Clooney was dating waitress Sarah Larson he publicly stated that he would “never marry,” but now it seems the tide has maybe turned for the actor. In fact, the couple recently moved in together into his California home.
It’s been sixteen years since Clooney ended a difficult marriage to actress Talia Balsam. Most people assumed George would never get married again after the ordeal. However, that didn’t stop the actor from dating several women, many at the same time. Of course, that news came mere days after TLC announced they were changing the scope and name of ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8’ to simply ‘Kate Plus 8’. I could go on and on and on…
