GlossaryFluorescenceEmission of visible light by a material when it is exposed to ultra violet radiation. There are faint, medium, strong, and very strong levels of fluorescence. When viewing the diamond in a “black-light” environment you will notice a blue glowing sensation to the diamond. Other variations of color can occur, but are very rare and uncommon. Blue fluorescence is the most common of them all. Most of the time the fluorescence of a diamond can only be detected under these lighting conditions. Meaning that under normal lighting conditions you will not notice any difference in the appearance of the diamond. It will essentially look like a natural white diamond.
