Thu, 10 May 2007, 05:31 EST
Nowadays everything seems to be better with “bling.” Apparently that’s what Philips thought also when it created the first diamond-studded television set. This $250,000 LCD TV is encrusted with more than 2,250 individual diamonds that decorate the edges of the screen. It was created to celebrate the production of Philips’ millionth Ambilight Flat TV. Miss Universe Australia Erin McNaught, was the lucky star to unveil the spectacular set at the HIA Sydney Home Show yesterday. The show runs until Sunday at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Center for all those interested in taking a peek.Unfortunately, the diamond TV will not be available to purchase. Even better, it will be auctioned off for charity after being showcased at a few trade shows around the world.- written by Sarah Baltic -
