 Luxury Swiss watchmaker Longines, known for its elegant designs using diamonds as accents, has enjoyed a great partnership with Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf. At this year’s French Open, Longines celebrated its third year as the Open’s official timekeeper, and both Agassi and Graf celebrated the 10th anniversary of their 1999 French Open victories. To commemorate this, Longines organized some events around the tennis stars and official ambassadors of the company. Longines President Walter von Kanel said of the couple: “Not only do they represent elegance and talent, but they exhibit elegance as an attitude. They are very serious to their foundations, and it is a very impressive and noble gesture on their parts to help us make this event a success.” It was the opportunity to raise money for their charities, Children for Tomorrow and The Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation, that got the pair involved in the events arranged by the famed Swiss watchmaker. First was a charity tennis match at Roland Garros, I which young tennis players from 10 countries played 8 matches against each other. These up-and-coming players were excited to be able to play alongside Agassi and Graf. Later was a gala at the Pavilion Cambon Capucines. During this event, two unique timepieces created by Longines for this event were auctioned off. One came from the Longines Admiral line, while the other was for the Longines Master Collection Moon Phases. Both have a self-winding movement, and dials set with over a hundred diamonds each. In honor of the event and the anniversary of Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf’s victories, the number 10 stands out against the diamond-encrusted background. Longines helped Agassi and Graf raise over $220,000 for their respective foundations.
